Francis Ward North

PLAINS – Francis Ward North, a longtime resident of Plains, passed away peacefully at Clark Fork Valley Hospital on April 17th, 2013 from pancreatic cancer at the age of 75.

Francis was born September 23, 1937 in Missoula, Montana to his parents, Ward Theodore and Olive Cecelia North. He graduated from Plains High School and attended Pacific Bible College in Portland, Oregon.

Francis worked in various capacities during his life in Plains which included logging Western Montana and the panhandle of Idaho, groundskeeper for a local complex and volunteering at his home church, Harvest Community Church of God. Francis loved the beauty of Western Montana, one of his favorite places to visit was Glacier National Park. Francis enjoyed music, played the piano, loved to read and always had a special place in his heart for dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Laura Cecelia North who passed shortly after birth in 1948. He is survived by his brother, Stephen Elliott North, niece, Lisa Raye North (Butt), nephew, Jeffrey Lee North, their families and numerous cousins.

Memorial service will be held at the Harvest Community Church of God located at 401 1st Street, Plains, Montana, on Friday, May 17th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
