MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man was arrested after allegedly threatening a neighbor with a handgun on Hawthorne Drive during an argument about a debt.
According to Moses Lake Police Capt. Dave Sands on Monday, officers responded over the weekend to the 500 block of Hawthorne Drive. A woman reportedly told officers a male, identified as Zebulon J. Gwyn, 18, allegedly threatened the subjects inside the home with a handgun. Police reports show the dispute stemmed from a previous debt.
After reportedly threatening the residents, Gwyn then fled to another residence at 604 Hawthorne Dr. Moses Lake police officers and Grant County deputies surrounded the home and attempted to get the suspect out using a PA system as well as by phone, according to Sands. Gwyn allegedly ignored law enforcement's efforts for more than an hour.
Officials decided to deploy the Tactical Response Team due to the nature of the crime, as well as other information Sands declined to release. Two uninvolved people left the home when the TRT arrived.
Before making entry into the home, Gwyn finally surrendered without incident, according to Sands.
Gwyn was booked into Grant County Jail on suspicion of possession of a pistol from a person 18 to 21-years old, possession of an unlawful firearm and felony harassment. He was booked into Grant County Jail without bail.
Gwyn was also charged in Grant County Superior Court in March with possession of a loaded pistol in a vehicle and possession of methamphetamine, according to court records.
Two firearms were seized during a warrant search, according to police reports.
Another occupant of the residence, Andrew M. Packer, 23, of Moses Lake, was also booked into jail on an unrelated warrant for not appearing in court for operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device and third-degree driving while license suspended.
