MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man is in jail after he allegedly assaulted a 5-year-old girl at a home in Moses Lake.
According to Moses Lake police reports, officers were called about 9 a.m. Sunday to a residence on the 600 block of West Crest Drive for a verbal domestic dispute.
When officers arrived, Brandon Lee Stratton, 29, told them he was verbally disciplining his 5-year-old daughter for wetting herself. At the time of contact, officers determined the child appeared to be fine and was sitting on her bed.
Stratton was found to have a valid misdemeanor warrant out of Grant County for failing to appear for fourth-degree domestic violence assault. He was booked into Grant County Jail.
According to police reports, officers were called back to the Crest Drive residence by a witness who observed numerous marks on the child's neck and face.
The child told officers Stratton allegedly slapped her in the face, choked her and tried to pull her teeth out, according to police reports. Moses Lake Police Capt. Dave Sands said the child did not require medical attention.
Stratton was charged and booked without bail for second-degree child assault.
