SCHOOLS: Board is on right track

The Press seems to be encouraging the slate of trustee candidates Christa Hazel, Dave Eubanks and Tom Hearn in their baseless accusations that the current CDA School Board is "politicizing." How many times are they going to say it without giving a single factual example? Tom Hearn — what facts support your accusation that the current board has a "narrow, partisan political agenda?" When we met at the Democrat club you told me that you were a registered Democrat.  How "non-partisan" is that?

They also like to harp on the fact that trustees Regan and Seddon were appointed. But let’s not forget they were appointed to fill seats vacated by prior liberal board members who refused to work with those with different views than their own. So much for their cries for "diversity and balance." And, these appointments were not like the tactic used by the old board to perpetuate itself by having members "retiring" early and then illegally appointing their own successor. It took a judge to correct that set of "critical thinking" skills. Let's not return to the old way of thinking on the Board but move forward with Regan, Seddon and Handeen.
