Idahoans forced to move due to foreclosure have until June 30 to apply for financial assistance from the Community Action Partnership Association of Idaho (CAPAI), Attorney General Lawrence Wasden and CAPAI Executive Director Christina Zamora said Friday.

"Idaho's settlement with the five largest mortgage servicers last year allowed us to extend a grant to CAPAI," Wasden said in a press release "I encourage eligible Idahoans to contact CAPAI immediately to take advantage of this limited opportunity."

Nearly $94,000 is still available to help defray the costs associated with moving from a foreclosure to safe and affordable housing. To receive assistance from CAPAI, Idahoans must meet CAPAI's income restrictions and be able to keep up with ongoing rent or mortgage payments.

Examples of expenses that CAPAI's grant may cover include: moving costs, rental application fees, credit check fees or rent for the first and last month.

The deadline to apply for funding under this program is June 30. Info: (208) 375-7382 ext. 14 or www.idahocommunityaction.org or www.ag.idaho.gov.
