NIC's Carter, Perlich named to Region 18 softball all-tourney team

TWIN FALLS - North Idaho College sophomore catcher Shelby Carter and sophomore pitcher Emily Perlich were named to the Region 18 softball all-tournament team Saturday.

Carter finished the tournament with three home runs and seven RBIs and Perlich allowed two runs in the Cardinals' wins against Snow on Wednesday and Southern Idaho on Thursday.

* In the championship game, Region 18 tournament Most Valuable Player MaCauley Flint pitched a two-hitter, striking out six as the second-seeded Salt Lake Bruins (48-9) beat the top-seeded Southern Idaho Golden Eagles 4-0 to advance to the NJCAA tournament May 16-18 in St. George, Utah.

CSI, which eliminated North Idaho College late Friday, finishes 50-11.
