FRUITLAND - After the job was done and the team gathered in the outfield for some postgame comments, Coeur d'Alene High softball coach Larry Bieber joined the huddle and let out a scream.

"About time," he shouted to his players, after the Vikings whipped Capital of Boise 10-0 in a state 5A softball play-in game Saturday at Fruitland High.

"We did everything we've been working on all year - playing great defense, hitting the ball and executing both offensively and defensively," Bieber said. "I felt really good about the way we played today."
