Wenatchee Wild take West Division title

WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee Wild are going back to the NAHL Robertson Cup Championship Tournament for the third time in franchise history after defeating the Fairbanks Ice Dogs 3-1 Tuesday in Game 5 of the West Division Finals at the Town Toyota Center.

Brian Williams (San Diego, Calif.) scored the game-winning goal 7:45 into the third period to break a 1-1 tie and give his team a lead it would not relinquish. Williams snapped the game-winner from the high slot, picking the top left corner of the cage. Josh Hartley (Coquitlam, British Columbia) picked up the lone assist on the goal that clinched the West Division title for the Wild. Monday at the Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas. 

The Wild will open the tournament Friday against the Bismarck Bobcats at 2:30 p.m. (PST).

FRISCO, Texas. — In spite of outshooting and out-chancing the Bismarck Bobcats, the Wenatchee Wild suffered a 3-2 loss Friday during the first day of competition at the 2013 NAHL Robertson Cup Championship Tournament at the Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas.
