HAZEL: Smart and successful

Christa Hazel is running for the Cd’A School Board in Zone 1. Christa is a 30-year resident of Cd’A. Christa graduated from CHS at the top of her class. I know because I was her high school counselor. She graduated from the University of Idaho with a law degree. Christa was a member of the Cd’A School District’s Long Range Planning committee and is currently a PTA member.

Christa understands the complexity of Idaho’s educational needs.  She is a mother of two who currently attend public schools in Cd’A, she volunteers in their classrooms and she studies educational issues from a non-partisan stance. At the the Mica Grange school board debate I was so impressed as I listened to Christa explain the issues around Common Core, educational funding, efficiency and earning the trust of our community.

Christa’s law background along with her extensive business and finance experience provide her with the reasoning ability to secure maximum benefit in a limited funding situation. Christa understands that education is a partnership between parents, teachers and educators. She wants the best education possible for our children.

Christa’s opponent on the school board frequently states how successful he has been in business. Business success alone does not necessarily translate into understanding the complexities of a school district, nor does it guarantee wisdom in making decisions that affect the education of our children. Christa‘s opponent does not send his children to public school. How committed will he be to ensure that public schools offer the best education to all our children?

Christa is well informed, a creative thinker, a strong community leader, articulate and factually accurate. She understands the issues of the day and will work hard to support a quality education for all children in the Cd’A School District. Christa Hazel has earned my vote.
