OTHELLO - A 4-year-old boy was injured during a drive-by shooting Friday night in Othello.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office is now looking for information for the shooting that occurred on the 600 block of Wagon Road, about one mile west of Othello.

About 7 p.m. Friday, a small, brown vehicle pulled up beside a red Cadillac. Suspects in the brown car allegedly fired several rounds at the Cadillac, witnesses told the sheriff's office. Several shell casings were recovered at the scene.

According to the sheriff's office, a family of five was in the Cadillac, including a 4-year-old boy.

The driver of the Cadillac then drove about five blocks toward their residence and the suspects in the brown car followed, according to the sheriff's office. As the driver pulled onto the family's property, additional shots were fired. At this time, the 4-year-old was struck in the head with a bullet fragment. The suspects then fled the scene.

The vehicle as not been located but suspects have been identified. Sheriff Douglas No arrests have been made and deputies are searching for three suspects.

The injured child was transported by private car to the Othello Community Hospital. According to the sheriff's office, X-rays showed the bullet fragment did not penetrate the child's skull and was removed by medical staff. The child was released late Friday night.

It is not known what instigated the shooting as the victims did not know the suspects, according to the sheriff's office.

The brown car is described as a sedan missing the front grill.

If anyone has any information on the shooting, contact the Adams County Sheriff's Office at 509-488-2061 or 509-659-1122.
