Two centuries-old Mullan buildings were destroyed in an early-morning fire Tuesday.

Firefighters and other first responders from across Shoshone County responded to the report of a structure fire in Mullan and arrived on the scene around 3 a.m.. But according to the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office, it was too late.

The Silver Eagle Bar and the United Steelworkers Hall were both already completely engulfed in the flames.

By 5 a.m., the fire was out, and the two Mullan mainstays on the corner of Earle Street and Fourth Street were destroyed after more than 100 years of being hubs of activity in the small mining town.

There were no injuries reported in the blaze, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
