YAKIMA - Consistency is the key to success in any sport. And although both the girls and boys tennis teams played well at times this season, they just couldn't make it over the hump to finish in the upper echelon of the district competition as both were knocked out of postseason play over the weekend.

"The Wenatchee boys were a force in this tournament placing first, second and third in singles, and first and third in doubles. We played well in doubles, but just ran into some quality teams," coach Jon Wrigley said. "Carina (LeFave) and Courtney (Kunjara) played real well to reach the doubles finals, but lost out to the DeMond twins, who are veterans of the state tournament. We started a bit tight, but really played a solid match against a high level opponent.  Our second match in the same day against Eastmont was tough. Abby Waterhouse caught fire in the third set and we could not find an answer. This season saw Carina really make a name for herself in the league. I am excited to see where she takes her game next season.Courtney finished her high school career with a solid tournament."
