MOSES LAKE - A 28-year-old Moses Lake man died Monday after crashing his motorcycle near Patton Boulevard in Moses Lake.

Jonathan Jones was reportedly riding a 1983 Honda Nighthawk motorcycle north on 22nd Avenue Northeast just east of Patton about 5:30 Monday, according to information provided by the Grant County Sheriff's Office Tuesday.

Jones was riding through a sweeping curve and lost control of the motorcycle. The motorcycle then struck a curb and Jones was thrown from the bike, hitting a concrete block on the side of the road.

Jones was reportedly found unconscious and unresponsive.

Bystanders and emergency responders attempted CPR and other life-saving measures on Jones at the scene.

The sheriff's office stated Jones' injuries were reportedly too severe and he died a short time later after being transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Grant County Sheriff's Motor Traffic Unit. Jones was reportedly wearing a helmet.

The motorcycle was destroyed, according to the sheriff's office.

Jones was a graduate of Moses Lake High School in 2003 and worked locally as a production specialist at Genie Industries, according to his Facebook page.
