SCHOOLS: Vote for common sense

Once again, I find myself compelled to write a letter on behalf of common sense! Partisan politics has no place in the current race for seats on the Coeur d’Alene School District Board. While attending the candidate forum at Micah Grange recently, my friend and I casually conversed about the fact that two candidates have the word “Republican” on their campaign signs. I commented that this seemed highly inappropriate, as a trustee position is not a political position. The campaign worker turned to talk with us and said that the reason Mr. Regan includes the word Republican is because he feels it “defines who he is.”

Please cast your vote on May 21 for the candidates who represent us, the citizens, the teachers, and most importantly, the students of the Coeur d’Alene School District. I will not be voting for anyone who believes “Republican” represents all of us or has a place in a school district boardroom. Please vote for Tom Hearn, Dave Eubanks and Christa Hazel.
