HAZEL: You know who she supports

Reach America, led by Pastor Gary Brown, advocates withdrawing students from public school because our public schools are “anti-Christ.” Appointed Trustee Brent Regan supports Reach America with money, time, leadership in class, and he references them in multiple ways on his campaign website. Regan’s campaign manager affiliates herself with Reach America as a radio host and also as a Reach America mom.

Education activist, Duncan Koler, accompanies Regan going door to door for votes. Koler happens to be Reach America’s registered agent, according to the Secretary of State. Reach America website states, “If your Christian children and/or teens are attending a public school, they are being immersed in a sex-saturated, anti-Christian culture where idolatry abounds.”

People are free to support who they support for whatever reason. But it is up to voters to ask why someone who supports Reach America wants to serve on a public school board and what their agenda is. This is a legitimate factor to weigh while considering who is the best candidate to serve our public school children.

I support Christa Hazel. She sends her children to public school. She volunteers to serve many schools in our district. She doesn’t view our public schools with contempt. I trust that her only agenda is in improving our community by supporting education. Christa Hazel has earned my vote.
