The newest edition of Dr. Mark William Cochran's book "Oby's Wisdom! A Caveman's Simple Guide to Holistic Health and Wellness" has been awarded Honorable Mention in the nonfiction category of the 2013 Best Indie Book Awards, a nationwide contest for books published by independent publishers.
The first edition was named "Best Nonfiction Book of 2009" by the Idaho Writers League.
Cochran is in private practice as a "holistic doctor of chiropractic" in Sandpoint and Hayden, states a press release.
The central theme of the book is what he describes as "turning health inside out." Although medical intervention plays an important role in health, people must first call on what he refers to as, "the Doctor Within." In the book, Cochran shares his personal story of how his own doctor within helped him overcome years of chronic arthritis pain and become a marathon runner.
Oby's Wisdom is published by Bitterroot Mountain Publishing of Hayden.
