BONNERS FERRY — Districts are over.
Softball is done for another year and the weather is finally beautiful.
On Thursday, May 2, Bonners Ferry played number one seed Kellogg in the first District playoff game. Headed into the sixth inning, the score was 0-0.
Standout defense, behind the arm of junior MaKenzie Carle kept the Badgers in the game.
Unfortunately, the bats picked up for Kellogg in the bottom of the sixth, allowing them to score 10 runs on multiple errors, thus ending the fantastic start the ladies had in district play.
Day two of Districts took place Tuesday again in Timberlake, with a total opposite of the 25 degree weather “enjoyed” earlier in the season.
Eighty-five degrees and sunny greeted the teams as they took the field. Bonners played Priest River in the consolation game.
The Badgers hung in a full seven innings, but fell to the Spartans 9-3.
For the first time in a few years, two Bonners Ferry Badgers were nominated to the All-League team.
Senior Lindsay Taggart and Junior MaKenzie Carle received the honors for their outstanding play throughout the season.
