HAZEL: Reach for the best

A comparison of two candidates: Two candidates for Zone 1 school board donate time, money, and leadership skills for students in school. For Brent Regan, it is Reach America — a school that advocates withdrawing students from the public system because the public system is “anti-Christ.” For Christa Hazel, it is CdA School District 271, the very system Reach America wages “war” on in their extreme videos and propaganda.

Both view education as important. For Regan, this is why he opted to homeschool his children. For Hazel, this is why she enrolled her children in public school and has made an effort to volunteer in order to make improvements to the system from within.

Both candidates are willing to volunteer more time to our community and serve without pay or benefits. For Regan, the motives are unclear. He’s not been previously involved. For Hazel, the desire is genuine, transparent, and easily discernible. She has a vested interest and actual experience that would make for an excellent board member.

Both candidates emphasize labels. For Regan, he is a Republican. For Hazel, she acknowledges she is conservative in her campaign for those who find this important. She also touts other labels like public school parent, volunteer, and life long Idahoan.

Both candidates ask for your vote. Only one candidate has earned mine. I support Christa Hazel. She is the right choice for our schools.
