Lakeside’s Quick Response Unit is hosting its first ever fundraising dinner June 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the unit’s new building.
The fundraiser is slated to help pay for a number of items inside the unit’s new hall at 201 Bills Road.
The dinner costs $10, which can be paid at the door. Ham, scalloped potatoes, cole slaw, vegetable, rolls, desert and a beverage are included.
Two baskets from Jelly-Belly will be raffled as part of the fundraiser.
The 17-person volunteer unit recently moved into the new building which is not completelly finished, QRU president Scott Eisenlohr said.
Among the items needed in the hall are a stove, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, dryer, sound system and digital overhead projector.
Eisenlohr, who has worked as an emergency medical technician with the unit for two and one-half years, said some $100,000 needs to be raised to complete the new hall.
