MOSES LAKE - Area skateboarders will show off their skills Saturday during the MOSAIK Skate Fest contest in Moses Lake.
The fifth annual competition runs from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Moses Lake Skate Park on 414 W. Fourth Ave. Registration begins at 10 a.m.
There are three divisions of competition with the beginner division starting off at 11 a.m., followed by the intermediate division at 12:30 p.m. and finishing with the advanced boarders at 2 p.m.
Beginner division participants will each have two one-minute runs while the intermediate and advanced will compete in a jam format. The jam format calls for two skaters to skate at the same time, allowing for a more competitive experience with more time for progression and difficulty of tricks.
Skaters are judged individually based on style, creativity and difficulty.
Helmets are required during all runs.
All skaters must have a completed registration form, which can be turned in with the entry fee to the MOSAIK Boardshop on 320 S. Cedar St. in Moses Lake. Participants can also hand in the registration forms the day of the event.
Youth younger than 18-years-old must have a parent or guardian's permission to compete.
The cost is $15 per person and includes a T-shirt.
For more information, contact the MOSAIK Boardshop at 509-765-0627.
