HAYDEN - Hayden $2 Discount Cinema plans to open Friday, June 7, in the former six-theater Hayden Cinema complex in Prairie Shopping Center.

The complex will be open daily with noon matinees and admission for cash, checks and an ATM available. Movie times can be checked at www.hdcmovies.com. Phone information will be available soon.

Closing a few weeks ago, Hayden Cinema 6 was purchased by Mike Lehosit of Boise, whose family has owned discount theaters in the Treasure Valley for 35 years.

"We believe in family movies at affordable prices so everyone can enjoy," he told The Press.

His family visited Coeur d'Alene five years ago on a Silverwood vacation and last year for a soccer tournament and loved the area, he said.

"We'll convert to digital projectors within a year," Lehosit said. "We've had fantastic support from Prairie Shopping Center. We hope to see you all at the movies."

The theater complex will have concessions and 15-20 employees.
