Class A: Whitefish's Harwood, Schulz state champs in track

LAUREL — Whitefish’s Logan Harwood and Marlow Schulz both won individual state track titles on Friday at the Class A meet in Laurel.

Harwood posted the top time in the 400 (48.81) while Schulz won the same event (56.13).

The Whitefish boys, 16, points, are in fifth place.

The Whitefish girls, 14 points, are in a four-way tie for fourth.

Polson’s Riley Sampson won the shot put (53-6 1/4).

The state meet concludes today.

Laurel and Billings Central, after five events, share the boys standings lead with 22 points, each. Corvallis, 81.5 points, holds a commanding advantage in the girls standings after seven events.
