Monster trucks invade sand dunes Saturday

Moses Lake — For those looking for something different for Spring Festival activities, check out the monster trucks and off-road vehicles taking over the Moses Lake Sand Dunes Saturday.

The Second Annual Diane Jackson Monsters in the Dunes Tough Truck and ATV Races starts at 10 a.m. Saturday near the Pamps Gravel Pit south of Moses Lake.

Monster trucks “Double Trouble” and ”Captain USA” will feature in freestyle events at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. and will race side-by-side at 1 p.m.

Quads, dirt bikes, rock crawlers, mega trucks and more will also compete in a range of timed events and Australian chase races.

Vendors will be available and live bands will also be playing music in the evening.

Admission is free to the event. Attendees will also have a chance to ride in the back of the trucks for a fee. Truck rides will be available at 11 a.m., 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.

The trucks are on display today at Bud Clary Chevrolet Toyota, at 12056 N Frontage Rd E in Moses Lake.

The event is sponsored by the Sand Scorpions ORV Club and several area businesses including NW Auto Recyclers and Bud Clary.

Registration for competitors begins at 9 a.m.
