TRAIL: It's not a city landfill

I am a concerned citizen of the city of Coeur d’Alene about the lack of maintenance between Ramsey Park and the Prairie Trail, once the Prairie Trail was developed, after the completion of the Kroc Center, the area between Ramsey Park and the Prairie Trail has become a dumping ground for the excess dirt from other locations in the city. This area is such an eyesore that everyone who uses the trail has to look at day in and day out.

This spring as the Legion Field was being built, all excavated dirt, sod, old irrigation pipes, etc. has been piled up in this area. I know this area used to be a landfill, but why does it have to look like one now?

With the city spending millions on McEuen Park and a new Legion Field, could they not find a few thousand dollars to convert the weeds and junk piles currently into a nice grassy slope down from the Prairie Trail to Ramsey Park?
