Clarence Lester Mixon passed away peacefully in his sleep at his Post Falls home on May 22, 2013. He was born April 18, 1951 in Memphis, Tenn. to Clarence and Mary Sue Mixon, later to be raised in Southern California, graduating Corona High. One of nine siblings that include Sandra, Sheila, Linda, Carol, Robert, Marilyn, Mark, and Pam. Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, known to all of them as Junior.
Clarence met and then married Julie on June 4, 1977. In 1980 they moved from Southern California to Post Falls, to enjoy the changing seasons, missing out on the first California real estate boom. He enjoyed his line of work as a long- haul trucker, retiring in 2004, often missing the road he left behind.
Clarence loved his family, especially his grandsons. He enjoyed conversing with many community friends; an avid classic car enthusiast, he liked to talk shop with like-minded enthusiasts.
He will always be missed by his wife Julie, his sons: Dennis and Brian of Post Falls,; Joseph of Vista, Calif.; daughter Laurie and her husband Danny Klug, of Coeur d’Alene; his grandsons Kyle and Devin Klug of Coeur d’Alene, and Preston Mixon of Vista, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Sheila and Sandra.
Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for those who wish, memorial service taking place immediately after at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls.
