Thompson Falls boys track and field take third

THOMPSON FALLS – The Bluehawks Track and Field team competed in Bozeman at the state competition on May 24 and 25, coming out with some success.

The boy’s team secured 46 points and took fourth place behind Manhattan, Red Lodge and Ronan-St. Ignatius.

Preston Schubert led the boys getting first place in the 300 hurdles with a time of 39.24, first place in the high jump with 6-2, placed in the 300 hurdles with 15.48. Schubert also finished first in the pole vault on Friday with 14-7 and third in the 400 that same day.

Dominique Holt secured a third place finish in the pole vault on Friday with a height of 13 feet.

The Thompson falls girls secured 32 points, all of which Hope Reid added to the total. Reid took first place in the 100 hurdles with 14.96, second place in the 300 hurdles with 46.49 and came in third in the high jump with 5-0.

PLAINS – The Koo-Koo-Sint fires have merged after 25 to 30 mile per hour winds, 95-degree weather and 15 percent relative humidity came together to create perfect conditions for the fire to grow.
