There were no titles this year, but the Columbia Falls track teams had some solid performances at the state Class A track meet in Laurel on May 24-25.

Ty Morgan took second in the javelin with a throw of 175 feet even. Nakia Alexander was third in the triple jump with a leap of 43-4. The boys 1,600 meter relay team took third with a time of 3:29.18. Josiah Osborne was seventh in the 100-meter dash at 11.46.

On the girls side, Carla Nicosia took third in the triple jump at 35-08.75. The winning jump, by Annika Moore of Hamilton, was just three-quarters of an inch longer.

Haley Belgarde threw the shot 35 feet 8 inches to take sixth, and Andrea Getts took sixth in the discus with a throw of 106-3. Samantha Mundel did well in the 3,200 meter run, taking fifth with a time of 11:45.75.

As a team, the boys were 10th and the girls were 11th.

The team was young this season, and all the athletes that placed will return again next year.
