Nonfiction rules the reading lists for June’s book club meetings.

On June 11, the Flathead County Library Book Club will discuss Cheryl Strayed’s “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail.”

The memoir tells the story of Strayed’s 1,100-mile solo hike after the death of her mother and the dissolution of her marriage.

The club meets at 5 p.m. in the main library’s conference room, Kalispell.

For more information, contact Marylane Pannell at kuhlpan@cyberport.net or 257-5793.

The History Book Club discusses Lyndel Meikle’s “Very Close to Trouble: The Johnny Grant Memoir” at its June 13 meeting.

The book tells the story of an early Montana pioneer who arrived in the territory as a teenager in the 1850s. Grant lived for many years in the Deer Lodge area on what is now the Grant Kohrs ranch.

“Very Close to Trouble” is out of print, but it is available throughout the Flathead County Library system and at used book stores.

The book club meets at 6:30 p.m. in the basement conference room at the Museum at Central School, 124 Second Ave. E., Kalispell. All are welcome.

For more information, call Diane at 752-0204.

The Whitefish Library Book Discussion Group will talk about Rachel Maddow’s “Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power” at its June 26 meeting.

The New York Times best seller charts America’s drift into a state of perpetual war. Maddow argues that the country has drifted away from its original ideals.

The group meets at 6 p.m. in the library meeting room. Everyone is welcome.

Books may be available for checkout.

For more information, call the library at 862-9914.
