On Tuesday, May 28, 2013, James Anthony D’Andrea went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a loving husband, provider, father and grandfather. Born on May 28, 1943, to Tony and Ruth D’Andrea, with his twin brother Thomas M. D’Andrea, he joined a large family. Along with Alan, Norman, Janet, Doug and Jim’s twin brother Tom, the family lived in Kellogg for a time. They then moved to Coeur d’Alene, where Jim went to school and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1962.

In June 1961 he began working for the U.S. Forest Service fighting fires, planting trees and later becoming supervisor of the U.S.D.A. Coeur d’Alene Tree Nursery. He met his lifetime friend, wife and support system, and married her on May 28, 1970. Dorene K. Peterson became Dorene K. D’Andrea that day, and later they had two children, Angela K. D’Andrea and Rusty J. D’Andrea. He retired from the forest service after 44 years of devoted service on Sept. 1, 2005.

James loved the woods and camping, getting firewood and yard work. He was an avid fisher and hunter and loved taking his son and grandson out to deer hunt or scout for birds. He spent time with his friends as well on many hunting and fishing excursions. His family was always No. 1 and everything he did was to benefit them.

He and Dorene have five grandchildren, Zachary Lutz, Rebbecca Sevey, Rachel Sevey, Selena Sevey and Peter Sevey II.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Tony D’Andrea; his sister, Ruth D’Andrea; and brothers, Norman D’Andrea and Alan D’Andrea.

He is survived by his wife, Dorene D’Andrea; his sister, Janet Delavan (D’Andrea); brothers, Douglas D’Andrea and Thomas D’Andrea; his daughter, Angela D’Andrea (Sevey), her husband Peter Sevey, son Rusty D’Andrea and wife Robin D’Andrea; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. The viewing will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2013.
