MOSCOW - Eric Brown has been named linebackers coach at the University of Idaho, and Byron "Bam" Hardmon has been named defensive line coach.
The son of the late Dan Brown, a long-time coach at Fresno State, Eric Brown comes to Idaho from Indiana State where he was outside linebackers coach and worked with Vandal defensive coordinator Ronnie Lee.
"Eric is a coach's son," Idaho coach Paul Petrino said. "You can tell he's been around football all his life.
"He's probably one of the greatest young minds in college football."

"Bam is a great young coach," Petrino said. "He's fiery, he's excited and he relates well to the players."
Not only do his on-field credentials meet Petrino's criteria, his recruiting ability and knowledge of the southeastern United States make him the complete package.
"He has great connections in Florida, the southeast," Petrino said. "I'm real excited to have him on my staff."
Hardmon signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2003. He also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers as well as with three NFL Europa teams. He played for Hamburg during tis 2007 World Bowl Championship season.
