'Autumn Giants' is theme for GSC's November concerts

Glacier Symphony’s two November concerts will feature “In Autumn,” by Norwegian Romantic composer Edvard Grieg, followed by “Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor,” by Max Bruch, with New York City–based French violinist Arnaud Sussmann in the soloist role. “The Pines of Rome,” by Ottorino Respighi, will conclude the performances.

Both concerts will be held in Flathead High School auditorium on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 17, at 3 p.m. Ticket prices range from $15 to $32 and are available online at www.gscmusic.org or by calling 407-7000.

Uphill skiers need to be aware of avalanches on Big Mtn.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
