Class A volleyball: Polson, Frenchtown win 3-0

POLSON — Polson wrapped up regular season and Northwestern A divisional volleyball play Friday night by defeating Libby 25-17, 25-19, 25-20.
Chloie Huerta led the Pirates in kills (16) and blocks (four).
Hannah England, Hailey Moe, Devon Gallagher and Dayln Germany all had five kills each for Libby.
Polson swept the season series with the Loggers.
“We played steady ball, we went at them at the very beginning,” Polson coach Jan Toth said.
“We worked on our offense, pounded the ball and forced them to make mistakes and they did that. And we blocked better. That made a big difference.”
Polson hosts the two-day Northwestern A divisional tournament, which begins next Friday.

Frenchtown 3, Whitefish 0
WHITEFISH — Frenchtown defeated Whitefish 25-12, 25-15, 25-17 in the Northwestern A and regular-season finale for both teams.
Morgan Ray had 10 kills and four blocks to lead the division champs.
Marlow Schulz had seven kills and two blocks for Whitefish.
“I thought defensively we played really well,” Whitefish coach Sara Scott said.
“Offensively, we struggled to keep the ball on the court.”
Up next for both teams is the Northwestern A divisional tournament in Polson next Friday and Saturday. The top two teams advance to state.
