Traditions of Christmas, a Radio City Music Hall-style holiday spectacular, returns to Coeur d'Alene this year and will feature Academy Award-winning actress and area resident Patty Duke in the role of Mrs. Claus. Duke's husband, Mike Pearce, will play Santa.

The show, like last year's Traditions of Christmas, is produced by Laura Little Theatricals, and will be performed Thursdays through Sundays from Dec. 12 to 23 at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, 1765 W. Golf Course Road, Coeur d'Alene.

The Traditions of Christmas features a cast of 80 including some local talent.

"In many ways, the show remains the same as last year, however, we have added a few new scenes to change things up a bit for our returning audience members," says a press release.

In addition to dancing elves, gingerbread dolls, and toy soldiers, the show's highlights include a Dickens scene with a horse and sleigh on stage, a snowman that comes to life with the help of a magic top hat and some enchanted snow, and "a USO segment that will bring tears of pride to your eyes as we honor our military and our country."

The show concludes with Living Nativity scene, with a donkey, sheep and a chorus of angels.

Traditions of Christmas is appropriate for ages 4 and older; organizers request "no babes in arms."

Ticket prices are $33/adults, $26/military and seniors (62-plus), $20/children 12 and under. Group rates are available.

For tickets and information, call (208) 391-2867 or visit www.traditionsofchristmasnw.com or in person, 1323 Sherman Ave., Coeur d'Alene.
