PLAINS — Bigfork got even with Thompson Falls for two regular-season losses Saturday night by downing the top-seeded Blue Hawks 25-21, 26-24, 12-25, 14-25, 15-10 in the championship match at the District 7B volleyball tournament.
The win sends Bigfork to the Western B divisional, which begins Thursday in Florence, with the top seed.
“It was really exciting to come out and win right away,” Bigfork coach Melody Strauss said of the first two sets.
“It boosted the girls confidence quite a bit.”
Strauss said Bigfork struggled with its serve receive after that, which allowed Thompson Falls to rally and win the next two sets.
“That’s something we’ve been hot or cold on,” she said.
“We were definitely cold.
“We let down and they came back,” she added.
Bigfork rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the final set to take the lead and never trailed after that.
“They (players) shook it off,” Strauss said of the third and fourth sets.
Also advancing to divisionals are Plains and Troy.
