Loving son, father, brother, grandpa, grandson, and uncle-Larry Eugene Peyer, 53, of Coeur d’Alene, ID went to the big fishing hole in the sky, October 16th, 2013, in Coeur d’Alene, 3 days after being diagnosed with cancer.

Larry was born March 16th, 1960, in Wallace, ID to Bob Peyer and Marlene (Schilter) Sproul. He grew up in Pinehurst and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1978. He was a star wrestling champ throughout high school and went to the State Championships all 3 years. After graduation, he worked at Bunker Hill Mining Company until they closed. He then went to electrical school to become a Journeyman Electrician.

Larry’s personality was always happy and full of life, he was friendly and good hearted-he always stopped to talk to others. He loved to be a prankster whether it was big or small, he was able to cause discontent, tip the apple cart and make everyone smile and laugh.

His passions were his family, friends, and fishing and camping at Black Lake and the high country with his brother, sister, children, grand-children, nieces, nephews, Black Lake neighbor Bob Ray, and best friend Bub Loe.

When he fell ill, his dream was to get well and go fishing one last time with his brother, Steve, up in the high country. He also said he wanted to spend quality time with his children, grandchildren, parents, grandmother, brother, sister, nieces, nephews, and close family. He wanted to spend his time living in the family cabin at Black Lake: as well as traveling and seeing new places like the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium- not just the cheerleaders.

He didn’t want anything to go unspoken, he wanted to have time to spend talking with those he was close to and cared about.

He is survived by parents; Frank and Marlene Sproul of Pinehurst, ID, stepmother; Tommie Peyer of Citrus Heights, CA, daughter and son in law; Jamie (Peyer) and Mitchell Fitzpatrick of Cashmere, WA, sons; Jeremy Peyer of Wenatchee, WA and Tony Peyer of Viola, ID, grandchildren; Dustin Fitzpatrick, Shaelyn Fitzpatrick, Jordan Fitzpatrick all of Cashmere, WA and Denny Peyer of Viola, ID grandmother; Birdine Schilter of Pinehurst, ID sister and brother-in-law Ladina (Peyer) and Chancey Merwin of Coeur d’Alene, ID brother and sister-in-law; Steven and Susan Peyer of Baker, FL, nieces and nephews; T.J. and Teralyn Merwin of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Summer Peyer of Baker, FL, Heather (Peyer) Jones of Dallas, OR, Nathan and Ian Peyer of Kellogg, ID, Ex-wife; Tammy Teller of Wenatchee, WA and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his father; Bob Peyer, grandfather; Glen Schilter, brother and best friend; Terry Peyer, and step-brother; Robert Ketchum.

Our family would like to say Thank you to Dr. Richard Samuels, Dr. Gertzen, Dr. Cutter, Dr. Bering and the Pallative Care staff and the other staff from Kootenai Health that helped take care of Larry especially RN Gary Belnap who gave him outstanding care, was very supportive, went above and beyond the call of duty, and put a huge smile on his face when he took the time to talk about the football game on TV, Nila and Connie from the City of Kelloff/Greenwood Cemetry, and Carol and the staff at the Coeur d’Alene Inn.

A celebration of Larry’s life for family and friends was held on October 19th, 2013 at the Coeur d’Alene Inn, a private Memorial Service lead by T.J. Merwin was held October 21st, 2013 at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg, ID where his remains will be laid to rest with his brother Terry Peyer, and a private Celebration of Larry’s life was held at his favorite fishing spot in the high country on October 22, 2013 where we released white roses into the river in honor of him.

He will forever be in our hearts and will be greatly missed. The memories we shared will forever be with us.
