MATTAWA - Wahluke High School closed out the volleyball season against Connell last week, and the outcome was predictable.

The powerful Eagles won 8-25, 19-25, 10-25.

"We played hard. We were just outmatched," coach Rudi Christian said. "Connell has an outstanding volleyball team."

Warrior Ericka Tapia went 8-9 serving with two aces. Liliana Ramirez 11 digs, Maripaz Olivarez seven digs and Morgan Peterson three kills.

"I am proud of the effort our girls put forth the entire match," Christian said. "It was exciting to watch us compete against such a strong team. The games had several intense volleys."
