Daines speaks on behalf of veterans
Rep. Steve Daines | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 12 years, 1 month AGO
Our country would not be what it is without the soldiers and veterans that we honor today. I am proud to be the son of a U.S. Marine. Through him, I first saw the valor and courage of the fighting men and women who served in our armed forces.
As your representative, it’s my honor to serve the thousands of veterans who, like my dad, call Montana home. It’s a responsibility that I take seriously.
Our veterans made enormous sacrifices to protect our country and defend our freedoms. We can never repay that debt. But we can honor their sacrifice.
That's why I’m working across the aisle to protect our veterans’ hard-earned benefits and ensure that we are meeting their health care needs. Our Veterans Medical Centers too often fall short, and that is simply unacceptable.
We must do more to help our younger veterans transition into the workforce after their service is complete. They have important skills, but too often go without work.
Our veterans have given us their all, and they deserve our best. So on this Veterans Day, I hope you will join me in honoring their sacrifice and service.
