Online insurance application numbers released

Your Health Idaho, the state's online marketplace for health coverage under the Affordable Care Act, released information from the federal government about the number of Idaho residents who were able to complete applications for coverage in October, the first month of open enrollment.
"Despite the continuous problems with getting through the federal application system, the numbers show Idahoans have a high level of interest in shopping for health care coverage through the competitive marketplace," states a press release.
-There are 4,753 completed applications on the marketplace for coverage available through Your Health Idaho, representing 10,573 Idahoans.
-Of those 10,573 - 3,305 applicants have been deemed eligible for the Advanced Premium Tax Credit.
-338 Idahoans have selected a health insurance plan from an Idaho carrier.
“As we all know, the federal application process is still experiencing some difficulty, but we are very pleased to see that so many Idahoans are getting online, using agents, brokers and In-Person Assisters as well as the call center to fill out applications -- and taking their time to choose the right plan,” said Amy Dowd, Your Health Idaho executive director. “One of the benefits of being a state-based marketplace is that we can respond quickly to these challenges and get the information that Idahoans need to get enrolled when they are ready.”
Through the Idaho marketplace, thousands of Idaho consumers are accessing the tools and resources made available, including:
-Idaho based Website: The website at www.YourHealthIdaho.org has had more 75,000 unique visitors generating more than 390,000 page views.
-Idaho-based call center: The Consumer Resource Center has received has handled more than 4,000 calls from Idahoans and answered more than 300 emails since the start of open enrollment.
-Plan & Rate Information Booklet: A plan and rate booklet accessible without completing an application is available at www.YourHealthIdaho.org.
-Cost-savings estimator tool: On www.YourHealthIdaho.org Idahoans can use the premium assistance estimator tool to estimate what savings they may be eligible for based on family size and income.
For Idahoans who are looking for coverage and need help in getting an application completed there are several options available:
-Consumer Connectors, including agents, brokers and In-Person Assisters are available across the state to help Idahoans look for the plan that is right for them and their families.
