Manta Rays second at Harvest Swim Meet

YAKIMA - The Manta Rays Aquatics Swim Team placed second in the annual Harvest Swim Meet in Yakima recently, with several swimmers winning overall high point for their age groups.

Josiah Johnston dominated the meet winning eight of his 10 events to score high point for the boys 11-12 age group. ShyAnne Speed won two events and placed second in several others to win the girls 13-14 age group. Megan Washburn won five events en route to high point in the girls 15-19 division.

Dylan Bond won two events in the boys 11-12 division and Zachary Washburn won five events in the boys 10 and under age group swimming only one day of the meet. Cory Dana placed first in two events and second in several others in the 11-12 age group. Jeremiah and Halle Johnston each won an event in the boys and girls 13-14 division, respectively.

Other top three finishers included Janice Pryor, Alex McLain, Jesse Johnston and Lada Foryan. Jessica Williams was also able to qualify for Empire A Champs in the girls 11-12 division in the 50-meter freestyle.

The Manta Rays compete next weekend at the Turkey Trot at Eastern Washington University.
