CDA 2030 calls for food donations
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 12 years, 1 month AGO
COEUR d’ALENE—Thanks to a donation from a local businessman, participants in this weekend’s CDA 2030 Community Vision Summit won’t be hungry as they consider the future of the Lake City.
CDA 2030 organizers announced that Doug Parker, owner of Parker Toyota, is making a $1,000 donation that will pay for brown bag lunches for all the participants in the event taking place Saturday at North Idaho College.
Now, CDA 2030 organizers are asking Community Vision Summit participants to “pay it forward” by bringing food donations to give to people in need.
“This is a great way to demonstrate the power of the community to come together to help others,” Charles Buck, CDA 2030 chairman. “Unfortunately hunger is a reality in Coeur d'Alene for some of our citizens, especially children, but together we can help.”
Summit participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items that will go to the Coeur d’Alene Food Bank.
CDA 2030 is an alliance of citizen volunteers representing key public, private, civic, and community-based organizations, working in partnership to sponsor a “visioning” process for our community.
The public is invited to participate in the CDA 2030 Community Vision Summit event, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the North Idaho College Student Union Building.
