Enid Camm Husted Nissen, 95, passed away at Wellspring Meadow in Hayden. She was born April 3, 1918, on a homestead by the lake in Harrison, Idaho. Her parents, Fredrick and Emily Camm immigrated from England in the early 1900s in search of land in America.

After graduating from high school, she attended Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane, Wash. — finishing in 1939. She married Dr. Otto Maxwell Husted and settled down in what is now the Blackwell House on Sherman Avenue in Coeur d’Alene.

After Otto’s death in 1962 she raised her three children and later returned to her profession working in the operating room at Kootenai Medical Center. In 1969 she married Chester Nissen of Coeur d’Alene — he died in 2005.

Enid is survived by son Michael Husted (Kathy) of Spokane; son James Husted (Sally) of Boise; daughter Connie Johnson (John) of Hayden; stepdaughter Jane Husted Goodman (Wayne) of Clovis, Calif.; stepson Joel Nissen (Gerri) of Hayden; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Barbara Daugharty, Dr. Melchiore and Tiffany, the staff of Wellspring Meadows, for their compassionate and professional care.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed organizing, planning and cooking countless scrumptious meals for family and friends. She enjoyed spending time at her cabin on Lake Coeur d’Alene. She baked beautiful Christmas cookies and candies, loved fashion and modeled at age 90, enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, England, Mexico and around the U.S.

Enid worked hard, loved well, had many lifelong friends and leaves as legacy of caring that lives on in her children and grandchildren.

Viewing will be held from 9-9:45 a.m. with funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, is entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
