EPHRATA - Moses Lake Christian Academy volleyball will continue its season at the state tournament in Yakima after finishing in third place at the District 6 1B Volleyball Tournament.

The Lions entered the tournament with a 12-3 record and the No. 1 seed from the Central Washington 1B South Conference, but were upset in the first round by Pateros. MLCA was able to rebound and beat Waterville in three games to secure a state berth.

The Lions are scheduled to play Mt. Vernon Christian Academy at the Sun Dome in Yakima. The match is scheduled to start at 8 a.m.

MLCA will play again at 3 p.m. or 6:45 p.m. depending on the result of the first match.

The Lions, with first-year head coach Amanda Saenz at the helm, will look to have a strong showing at the Sun Dome.

The school has scheduled for no class on Friday to encourage friends and family to make the trip to Yakima to support the team.

Student are also encouraged to dress in navy and gold Thursday to show support for the team. Crazy hair, face paint and other appropriate attire is also acceptable.
