MOSES LAKE - Two fundraising events for two different student groups are planned at Big Bend Community College in the coming weeks.

The college's honor society will host a silent auction from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday in the Peterson Gallery in the ATEC building, according to a press release from the college. Proceeds will benefit honors society activities.

Winning bids will be announced at 4 p.m. Honors society members will be around right at 4 p.m. to count down the final seconds.

The School of Nursing will sponsor its annual Winter Craft Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7 in the ATEC building. The organizers are looking for vendors; people who want to rent spaces can contact Heidi Bratsch, 509-793-2137. College clubs and organizations have been invited to participate.

Nursing students will be available to help vendors staff their tables if needed.

The 2012 bazaar drew about 30 vendors, selling jewelry, woodcrafts, baked goods and candy, handcrafted items from knitted scarves to fabric Christmas stockings.

Proceeds from the bazaar are used to help nursing students prepare for the National Licensing Exams, according to the press release.
