* Two-vehicle crash sends woman to hospital

POST FALLS - A T-bone collision sent a 29-year-old Post Falls woman to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries on Monday afternoon.

According to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, Sarah Mann had stopped for a stop sign on Huetter Road at Prairie Avenue just after 4 p.m. in a gray four-door 2001 Audi.

Mann failed to yield to oncoming traffic on Prairie, according to the KCSO. The Audi was struck in the driver's side door by a black 2000 Dodge Dakota driven by Justin Williams, 26, of Rathdrum.

Mann was transported to Kootenai Health. Mann's 5-year-old son, who was buckled in the back seat in a child safety seat, and Williams were not hurt.

Mann was cited for failing to yield from a stop sign. Traffic in the area was delayed for about an hour and a half.

* Free HIV tests available

In recognition of World AIDS Day on Dec. 1, Panhandle Health District will provide free Rapid HIV testing.

The number of tests is limited, so appointments are necessary.

Free tests will be available at PHD offices in St. Maries, 137 N. 8th St., on Monday, Dec. 2, and Monday, Dec. 16. For an appointment, call 245-4556.

They will also be available at PHD in Hayden, 8500 N. Atlas Road, on Wednesday, Dec. 4 and Friday, Dec. 6. For an appointment, call 415-5270.

The Rapid HIV test is similar to a pregnancy test, using blood from a finger stick instead of urine. It provides results in about 15 minutes. If test results are positive, blood will be drawn from the patient for a second test for confirmation.
