On a mission

We have just returned from three Third World countries. Our experiences were phenomenal. Seeing the beauty in God's creation was indescribable. Experiencing the culture, including new foods and trying to converse in another language was challenging, but fun. As in any Third World country there are emotionally painful experiences. The poverty was overwhelming. Poor diets and lack of food takes its toll. Living conditions were shocking by our standards. While in these countries we learned a lot about the sex slave trade. We cannot reveal specific information such as names of the rescuers, of the children who are sex slaves, and organizations they work for in order to protect their identities.

The enslavement of young children is rampant. Those who have done research believe there is upward of 2 million children held in captivity. The abusive behavior of the slave masters is unbelievable. It is inconceivable but in some cases these children are sold into captivity by their parents. However, more often these kids are kidnapped. These children are desperately waiting to be rescued. Once they are rescued they have a difficult time adjusting to a normal life. They have been deprived of normal teaching and modeling. It is impossible for them to free their minds from the perverted acts that have been forced upon them. It takes counseling and a miracle for them to live a semblance of a normal life.

I think we can all agree that kidnapping and selling children in the sex trade is horrendous and the perpetrator should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The most hated inmates in our jails and prisons are those who have committed crimes against children. Jesus said, "If we offend one of these little ones, it would be better that a millstone be hanged about his neck." Isn't it just as horrendous to dismember an innocent baby in the womb or by murdering the baby by partial birth abortion? Isn't it an offense to children who are taught by a parent or teacher in school that unnatural, immoral sex is normal thus confusing their thinking and causing them to question their sexuality?

As I was skimming through the newspapers we had held for us while we were away the first thing I read was the headline on the Sept. 12 edition - Sex and the City (government). I was disgusted to be reminded again that a moral issue has become political which led to the passing of an anti-discrimination ordinance to protect immoral behavior. Those who practice unnatural sex have repeated the lie about so called sexual orientation so loud and so often that even well meaning people are believing the lie about homosexual behavior. The proponents of this deviant behavior try to make us feel guilty and sorry for those who they say are being discriminated against.

Tony Stewart said all human beings should have equal protection under the law. I agree, however equal protection should never mean protection of immoral or criminal behavior. Tony recently in referring to humanity said we are all God's children. By making that statement he has acknowledged the existence of God. In his My Turn article he said, "At the end of life, each of us will be judged based on how we treated other human beings." He did not say who should be the judge. If God exists and is the Creator who designed male and female and the beautiful plan for human sexuality, then would it not make sense that God be the Judge of what is the best and right way His creation should function? He not only tells us what is right but that there are consequences for wrong perverted behavior.

Tony said southern politicians lost their moral compass and history has condemned their actions. I say, Tony and his supporters, including all of city council members except Steve Adams, have lost their moral compass and God has condemned their actions. Unfortunately we have too many politicians, including President Obama, who end their speeches with "God Bless America" and then turn around and spit in God's face by violating His principles in words and actions. I plead with you to humble yourself before God and reverse your actions on the discrimination ordinance. In so doing, you can expect to receive God's blessing. Deuteronomy 11:26-28

There is such a thing as absolute truth

Periodically I am asked why I keep voicing my opinions in letters to the editor. The simple answer is I feel compelled to offer hope to those who are seeking political and/or religious answers to life’s uncertainties.

Reflections on an empty inaugural address

The following thoughts were prompted by remarks made by the President in his Inaugural address. His statements have given pause both for optimism and concern. My concern is that many people of liberal thought blindly embraced all the issues he presented as being good for America. We do not take time to examine thoroughly all sides of an issue. Our educational institutions put more emphasis on what to think rather than how to think. This is true of both secular institutions and many religious colleges and seminaries. The result is a high percentage of graduates are brainwashed. They turn out to be rubber stamped clones of what to think and believe by their favorite professors and institutions. They haven't learned how to come to reasonable conclusions on issues regarding philosophy, psychology, theology, and politics. Too many educators do not emphasize the importance of challenging their students how to think by the gaining of information through the free exchange of ideas for the purpose of discovering TRUTH. When we learn how to think: knowledge, wisdom, and common sense combined with experience will help us come to right conclusions.
