Debate judges needed for Kalispell tournament

The Kalispell Western Regional Speech and Debate Tournament will be held at Flathead and Glacier high schools this weekend and judges are still needed.

The tournament Friday and Saturday will feature 635 competitors and 16 teams ranging from Class AA to Class C.

Speech events will be at Flathead High School. Debate and drama events will be held at Glacier High School.

Friday’s first round begins at 4 p.m. The first round Saturday begins at 8 a.m. An awards ceremony starts at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Flathead High School Auditorium.

Twenty six debate judges are needed Saturday. Eighteen judges are needed at noon and eight at 3 p.m. Prior experience isn’t necessary. People interested in judging may register at www.kalispellspeechdebate.org.   

A clinic for judges will be held at 6:30 p.m. today in the large lecture room at Flathead High School. Attending the clinic is not required to be a judge.
