• Vandals spray paint parts of McEuen Park
COEUR d'ALENE - Profanities were sprayed in red paint at multiple locations in McEuen Park.
Vandalism of two trucks, several structures and the Mudgy Moose statue was reported to the Coeur d'Alene Police Department on Monday by a city employee. Sgt. Christie Wood told The Press Wednesday that the graffiti was not directed toward the construction of the park.
"It was just general profanities," Wood said.
Wood said the vandalism likely occurred at night but is encouraging anyone who may have information on the crime to contact authorities.
"There are a lot of hikers in the area so hopefully somebody saw something," Wood said.
'No Trespassing' signs were installed at the park in July and the order remains in effect until its construction is completed.
"It will be open to authorized personnel only," Wood said. "The police department will enforce the no trespassing order."
