Moses Lake Manta Rays compete at EWU

CHENEY - The Manta Rays Swim Team took a small squad to the Turkey Trot Invitational at Eastern Washington University recently.

The group placed seventh out of 13 teams traveling from Coeur D'Alene, Spokane and Seattle.

Cora Dana recorded a trifecta of first place finishes with wins in the 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter freestyle and 100 meter fly. Dana also had two second and third place finishes in her other events competing in the 11 and 12 age group.

Brandon Eslick won the men's 15 and over 100 meter fly and added two second places finishes and one third place finish in other events. Zack Johnston won the men's 15 and over 1000 meter freestyle. Johnston also recorded a second, third, fourth two fifths and a sixth place finish at the meet.

Dylan Bond, Kade and Jordan Pack, Logan Osborne and Christopher Vidrine also competed and recorded several best times in there events.

The Manta Rays will compete next in Wenatchee on Dec. 7 and 8.

The team closes the year with the Washington State Senior Champs meet in Federal Way, which starts Dec. 19 and runs through Dec. 22.
