Four from Othello injured in hit-and-run

MESA - Four people from Othello, including two juveniles, were injured in a hit-and-run collision Sunday near Mesa.

About 5:45 p.m., the driver of a red 1995 Ford F-250 pickup was heading south on state Route 17 when the driver attempted to pass two semi-trucks in a no passing zone. The driver reportedly lost control and crashed into a 1997 Toyota Camry heading north, according to the State Patrol.

The driver of the truck fled the scene following the crash.

The driver of the Camry, Rene C. Duran, 41, and one of the passengers, Concepcion F. Torralba Larios, 36, were transported to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland with undisclosed injuries, according to the State Patrol.

Two juveniles, a 13-year-old girl and 11-year-old boy, were also injured and were taken to Trios Health in Kennewick.

The State Patrol is still investigating the incident and have not found the driver of the truck.
