Vikings topple Bulldogs

COEUR d'ALENE - Sydni Parker had 10 points, five steals, five assists and four rebounds to lead the Coeur d'Alene Vikings past the Sandpoint Bulldogs 59-46 in a nonleague basketball game at Elmer Jordan Court on Tuesday night.
Sandpoint has played the 5A schools tough during the early season, losing to Post Falls by 12 and falling to Lake City by five.
"Sandpoint does some good things and got some points," Coeur d'Alene coach Dale Poffenroth said. "When you get scoring out of eight kids and the way we played the first half, with the 'we score, you score,' it happens. We had a good defensive third quarter, but there's some things we've got to work on.
Madi Schoening scored 11 points and Hailey Olin added 10 for Sandpoint (1-3), which travels to Priest River next Tuesday.
Sara Chalich had 16 points and five steals and Sydney Williams added 13 points for Coeur d'Alene (3-0), which hosts Lewis and Clark on Saturday at 6 p.m.

POST FALLS - After leading by as much as 12 points, the Post Falls Trojans allowed the Moscow Bears to make a late run to get back in the game, before the Trojans won the nonleague game at The Arena.
"We played like we were on Thanksgiving break already," Post Falls coach Marc Allert said. "We didn't play very well. Moscow played well."
Senior guard Lexi Smith scored 13 points to lead the Trojans (2-0). Junior forward Hannah Bodman had eight rebounds and junior guard Shayna Allert had six steals.
Monica Burnette led the Bears (0-5) with 15 points.
Post Falls plays Tuesday at Lewiston, in the Trojans' Class 5A Inland Empire League opener.

RATHDRUM - Kelly Ramus had 15 points, 20 rebounds and six steals for the Hawks in a nonleague win against the Lumberjacks at Hawk Court.
"We're starting to do some things better," Lakeland coach Steve Seymour said. "Defensively, I thought we were really solid for 2 1/2 quarters and Kelly just played really well. Emily Vanderhoof might have had her best night as a varsity player with six steals.
Vanderhoof also had 15 points for Lakeland (1-4), which hosts Cheney on Tuesday.
Kelsey Auer had 10 points for St. Maries (1-3), which hosts Timberlake on Dec. 10.

LIBERTY LAKE - North Idaho Christian School only trailed by eight points at halftime, but an 18-8 third-quarter run by Immaculate Conception sealed the deal for the Royals in their nonleague season opener at the HUB Sports Center.
North Idaho Christian trailed 29-21 at the half in the nonleague game. Paul Connelly scored six of his team-high nine points in the first half for the Royals.
Thomas Kraemer scored 11 of his game-high 29 points in the third quarter.
North Idaho Christian next plays Monday vs. Genesis Prep Academy in Post Falls.
